Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) established as a regulatory authority, enforces various Environmental Acts, Rules and Regulations in the State. Its primary goal is to ensure a clean and healthy environment for the people by adopting a Sustainable Development model. The Board has taken various initiatives in the past in achieving this.

In order to achieve TNPCB goals on a long term basis, it becomes essential to equip and upgrade with the technologies that could take to the next level in terms of effectiveness in enforcement and improvements in the efficiencies of the human resources deployed in enforcement. In order to obtain all the information of the industries and the surrounding area, TNPCB decided to create a web-based GeoSpatial Services (GSS) portal.

This proposed web-based GSS portal will be of immense help to the Board ineffective monitoring and control over various attributes that decide the quality of the environment. In this regard, a mobile application is to be developed to facilitate geo-tagged photographs of the industrial units. Hence all the industries are requested to tag the location of your industry in the mobile app developed by TNPCB as early as possible.
